Runescape and warm best wishes for his tenure at Square Enix

  • Osborne recently made it clear on LinkedIn that he's quit Jagex after 15 years of editing content story design, narrative design, and lead design. He made the decision according to him, to "test his experience with the rest of the business OSRS Gold." Osborne is leaving Jagex and going straight into Square Enix on the publishing aspect, in the role of Senior Designer. He'll oversee "some amazing games" starting with Outriders.

This revelation led Redditor FatNWackyRS to contact members of r/Outriders with an easy message on Mod Osborne, describing him as the "warm, friendly "Dad" face at Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes everything Mod Osborne has been doing for the community over the years, with a focus on videos, including being portrayed as Mod Elfborne in order to promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape), joining livestreams, and helping alongside the company's vision.

Some communities or gamers might be upset at losing a well-known brand face, FatNWackyRS invited other Runescape players to post their stories. One user, for example, says they feel like they've had to win and lose due to playing simultaneously in Runescape together with Outriders. Others were excited at this news, some of whom had never interacted with Osborne before, thanks to this glowing endorsement by a participant in the Runescape community.

Indeed, exactly what happens on the other side of the Outriders fence remains to be seen, but the fans are aware of a number of exciting things are coming into the sport. Outriders' Worldslayer expansion is expected to be revealed this spring and is set to launch in the coming year and, beyond that, People Can Fly has a number of other projects underway, including a new game with Square Enix. What happens if Osborne is involved with this, however, is yet to be determined.

FatNWackyRS closes his post with an unassuming, heartwarming note to Osborne in the event that he happens to be reading it and read it: Thank you for everything he's accomplished for Runescape and warm best wishes for his tenure at Square Enix. "We cherish you, will miss you and would like to wish you the best of luck throughout the exciting endeavors to come with Square Enix buy OSRS Pest Control Points," the Redditor wrote on behalf of the RS community.
